The DCCT had two cohorts
one group without microvascular complications, a preventive cohort
one group with early microvascular complications, a progression cohort
The DCCT trial and multiple others proved that progression can be slowed and possibly prevented with good glycemic control.
Does this hold true for type 2 disease.
